The Lord

December 15, 2004 It is with profound sadness that I share with you news of the passing of our beloved chapter Soror Bessie Wright. Soror Wright made her transition early this morning after battling a debilitating illness. She is with our Lord and at peace, now. Words cannot express the deep sorrow we as a chapter must be feeling upon hearing the news about Soror Wright who most recently served as our Chaplain and is a distinguished charter member of North Manhattan Alumnae Chapter. She was deeply loved by all. As is the right afforded to all Deltas who move on to Glory, we will be honoring her life with an Omega Omega service. Details for the service as well as funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. I ask that you each of you keep Soror Wright and her family in your prayers. Remember her often for her dedication and the love she held for our chapter and her devotion to public service and her church. Delta meant so much to her in her life and it is fitting that we remember and honor her memory. A special prayer of blessings to Sorors Mary D. Redd, Carolyn McBain, Mildred Love, Charisse Penalver, Lydia Pitts, Pat Johnson and Chevaletta Alford for their untiring and devoted dedication and care for Soror Wright during her illness. Sisterly, Soror Rosia Blackwell Lawrence ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
