2024 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN

The North Manhattan Alumnae Chapter Scholarship was established to help African American women in need of financial assistance, pursue a degree-granting program directly from high school. This is a four-year scholarship of up to $2,000.00 per year.

Eligibility is limited to students attending a public high school in Upper Manhattan with a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better. Additionally, you must be a current high school senior expected to graduate in June 2024.


A continuing scholarship will be based on maintenance of a minimum grade point average of 2.75.

We suggest setting time aside to complete the application.  This application must be completed in one sitting.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Official Transcript: of grades 9-11
2. A Statement of Purpose
3. Two (2) letters of recommendation are required (Examples of recommenders: Principal, Counselors, Teachers
or other individuals who have knowledge of your qualifications and character.)  Letters of recommendation can be uploaded to your application OR emailed directly to scholarship@nmacdst.org.

4. Counselor Report. Report can be uploaded to your application OR emailed directly to scholarship@nmacdst.orgClick here to download the Counselor Report form.

5. Proof of Income: Federal Income Tax Returns (forms 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) or parents’ Social Security statement must be submitted with your application. If your parents are unemployed or have not filed taxes for the previous year, please submit a letter of explanation.

THE APPLICATION AND ALL MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY APRIL 20, 2024. ANY APPLICATION AND MATERIALS SUBMITTED AFTER THIS DATE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
